Polyphenols are the most abundant antioxidant compounds found in the plant kingdom. They help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals that arise during normal cellular metabolism, as well as from events such as emotional and physical stress, viral and bacterial infections, radiation, pollution, and UV exposure.
