Description

PIGEON VITALITY - L-CARNITINE COMPLEX 100G

Carnitine is an endogenous amino acid derivative that enables the transport of long-chain fatty acids from fat and muscle tissues into cells, where they are processed into energy. To ensure efficient energy metabolism, it is important to provide both free fatty acids and carnitine, which facilitates their transport. It should be noted that carnitine exists in two forms: the biologically inactive D-isomer and the active L-isomer. Our product uses only the active L-isomer. L-carnitine prevents muscle damage and stops their acidification by lactic acid. Additional supply of L-carnitine also strengthens the heart muscle.

Why Are Calcium and Magnesium Key for Optimal Pigeon Performance?
Administering carnitine to pigeons leads to reduced lactic acid production in muscles and prevents cramps. However, to effectively burn fat, the body requires a significant amount of magnesium, which – acting as a coenzyme – activates over 300 enzymes. Perhaps you have experienced pigeons returning from flights so exhausted that they could not reach their nest, right? Although they regain strength after a few days, you may notice they cannot fly straight but at an angle. This does not mean lack of energy but a calcium and magnesium deficiency. Providing these two minerals yields significant results in a short time. Additionally, these minerals are responsible for transmitting nerve impulses to muscles. A sufficiently high level of magnesium in muscle cells is crucial for proper muscle function, preventing cramps and pain. Moreover, during the racing season, it is common for both males and females to receive too little calcium, which is essential for bone formation, muscle activation, and functioning of hormones and some enzymes. Due to the magnesium and calcium deficiency in pigeons, Dutch nutrition expert Willem Mulder recommends providing them with an extra dose of magnesium and calcium during the racing season. Thanks to the magnesium and calcium content (CMCC) in Pigeon Vitality’s L-Carnitine product, after adding it to the grain, the improvement in the birds’ condition will be visible immediately, literally before your eyes!

Recommended Administration:
Apply a simple rule – add the L-carnitine, magnesium, and calcium preparation to meals where the grain is rich in fat. Usually, this is the evening meal on the day of return and the last days before flights over 400 km.

Usage:
The benefits of carnitine use become visible at the end of the racing season, especially for pigeons regularly flying medium or long distances (350-550 km) weekly. If pigeons are already supplied with minerals or supplements during the off-season, such as our MultiViTra which includes magnesium and calcium, there is no need to use L-Carnitine with calcium and magnesium for short and medium distances. The effects of L-Carnitine appear after about three weeks; therefore, we recommend starting administration 3 weeks before the first flight exceeding 400 km and continuing throughout the rest of the racing season. It is important to remember that once carnitine administration begins, the treatment should be maintained for the entire season because the L-carnitine produced by the pigeons themselves will be “suppressed.”

Recommendations:
Energy-rich grain should be given in the evening on the day of return. It is best if the grain is mixed with Turbo Flight preparation (which contains short-chain fatty acids rapidly absorbed from the intestines) plus 2 heaping scoops (2 teaspoons; 6 grams per 1 kg of feed, i.e., for 25 pigeons) of CMCC. The number of days of administration before the flight depends on the flight distance. NOTE: Omega 3 is the best oil to use in the days before the flight because unsaturated fats are the most important for muscles. It is recommended to mix Omega 3 and CMCC at the same time when energy-rich grain (fatty grain) is fed to pigeons. That means:

  • 2 last days before basketting for 400-550 km

  • 3 last days before 600-800 km

  • 5 last days before > 900 km
